You may not be kept up to date with policy changes or with new procedures, since you are an established patient who may be grandfathered in to older policies.
However, if you keep up to date with the reviews of your dentist, then you are sure to be able to get more out of your time with your dentist than just a cleaning and an exam.
How to Find Reviews on Your Dentist
Looking online is a great way to find reviews on your dentist. He or she likely has a website, so start there. Check out if there are any testimonials on their website, and if so, read through them. From there, look up the specific name of your dentist, or your dentist's office, in a search of the internet.Read through the different reviews, and see if you learn anything new. Keeping you up to date with the current expectations and policies is the duty of your dentist's office, but it is also up to you to do as the patient, since they have so many patients to try and keep track of.
If you notice that you agree or can answer some of the questions brought up in the reviews you read, leave one of your own talking about your experience with the dentist. If you have been a patient for years, it's likely you can offer a unique perspective on how the office and the dentist operates.
You can also speak with your dental office the next time you go in. Ask them directly about any new policies they have. They may even have new procedures that you may want to consider getting for yourself!
Please contact our office if you have any questions about your dental health.
